Deal, Kent. United Kingdom. Summer 2023.

Deal, Kent, feels like a place caught between worlds—somewhere where time has slowed down and the sea holds everything in a kind of quiet pause. Walking along the pebbled beach, there’s this undeniable sense of melancholy that clings to the air. The North Sea, stretching endlessly, seems to blend into the pale sky, and the old Victorian buildings lining the promenade feel like faded echoes of another time. As a photographer, you can’t help but be drawn in by the muted colors, the shifting light, and the way everything feels just a little lost.

There’s something romantic about it, though—this soft, almost forgotten beauty. Deal feels like it’s holding onto the past, resisting the pull of the present, and in that stillness, there’s a haunting charm that’s hard to shake. It’s like the town itself is dreaming, caught on the edge of something timeless. All shots taken with the Fujifilm GFX 50S ii and the GF-50mm f3.5. As shot with minimal retouching in Adobe Lightroom.
